Understand Your Truck's Towing and Payload Capacity

If you own a truck and want to make sure you're not overloading it, it's important to understand the difference between towing and payload ratings. At Ontario Honda, we want people to have the information they need to care for their vehicles.

The payload capacity of a truck is based on its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. It's the weight that the truck is able to carry in its cab and bed without being damaged, and it tends to be significantly lower than the weight a truck can tow, which is its towing capacity. The towing rating is the same for any type of hitch whether it's in the bed or under the bumper.

To have us service your truck and make sure that it's in prime shape for driving, bring it to our dealership today.
