A Quick Guide to Jump-Starting Another Car

Jump-starting another vehicle can be simple, but care must always be taken in order to avoid damage. Turn both cars off and bring them together. Attach each section of the jumper cables to the appropriate ends on the battery. Make sure to test the batteries first in order to see where the charge is.

When all of the cables are appropriately set and the area is clear, start the engine of the good vehicle. Let the good car run for a minute or two, revving the engine slightly in place before turning the other vehicle on next. Do not try to start the other car if it is still not working after three or four tries.

If the vehicle is still not starting up, visit us at Ontario Honda so we can help you. Our capable experts have worked with all types of vehicles, and we can help you troubleshoot your engine.
